"The process by which company objectives are established, achieved and monitored.
Corporate governance is concerned with the relationships and responsibilities between the
board, management, shareholders and other relevant stakeholders within a legal and
regulatory framework".

Lazard places corporate governance at the centre of our investment process, engaging with companies to maximise shareholder value. In the UK, we support the Statement of Principles on the Responsibilities of Institutional Shareholders and Agents, as prepared by the Institutional Shareholders' Committee, as well as the recommendations of the Combined Code on Corporate Governance, as issued by the Financial Reporting Council. More broadly, we have adopted the OECD’s Corporate Governance Principles in all material aspects.
