The skills developed day-to-day through providing clients with financial advice offer Lazard the opportunity to leverage its resources for investment outside the traditional sphere.

Currently, Lazard’s Alternative Investment business is conducted in the United States, Europe and Asia. Lazard Alternative Investments' goal is to provide global clients with investment solutions to achieve enhanced returns or diversification to traditional equity and fixed income investments. Lazard's Alternative Investments business is dedicated to achieving consistently high returns whilst seeking to limit risk to investors.

Investments in private and public equity range from focused technology venture capital to global long/short equity strategies.

Lazard Alternative Investments currently manages funds using (amongst others) the following strategies:
